Catrina Sparkman serves as a Student Service Coordinator and Outreach Specialist for the Mercile J. Lee Scholars Program. Catrina is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Madison with a Bachelors of Arts in English, Creative Writing, and a Masters in African American Studies. Catrina is a grassroots community theater artist who has carved out a successful career niche for herself as a workshop trainer, public speaker, and theatrical consultant for various national and international organizations. She is the author of several works of fiction and non-fiction. For the last five years Catrina has taught the groundbreaking, popular, and often time controversial UW course, Theatre for Cultural and Social Awareness. As an educator, Catrina is committed to partnering with students to help them achieve academic as well as personal success. She is excited to continue this important work at the UW with the Mercile J. Lee Scholar Program.
